Reflections
The reflections below come from individuals I have worked alongside in a variety of roles – through both individual therapy in private practice and with a number of UK charities, as well as while coordinating an outdoor trauma recovery programme for people navigating the impacts of life-changing injury, disability and chronic illness. Each voice has been carefully anonymised to help protect privacy.
While every experience is unique, I hope these reflections may offer a glimpse into what working together can be like.

"Since our sessions, I've learned to accept all parts of me and have been able to see myself in a new light.
I felt so much shame before, and now I feel like I can take on the world.
I now have a much better understanding of my self worth, which has also had a positive knock on effect on my relationship and my job.
I haven't yet 100% met all my goals as there is always room for improvement, but I am 100% happy with where I am right now."

"By airing with you the worries I had, you have helped me to release the shame I was feeling. This made me feel able to have a sense of control over the situation, which has ultimately reduced my addictive behaviours.
Having someone to speak openly with about feeling embarrassed and like the worst person in the world, warts and all, has helped release some of those feelings. I’ve begun to accept myself."
